Michigan Dutch Barns Inc., family-owned and operated, was founded by Steve and April Swartz in 1988. Our goal has been and continues to be providing custom-quality sheds for residential and agricultural communities in Western Michigan. We desire to make a positive impact in the lives of our employees, customers, and the communities where we work and live.

Coventry’s heavy-duty construction is fortified with a rolled-top nailing hem to provide an extra-strong wall attachment.
A flooring designed and warranted specifically for sheds, LP® ProStruct® Flooring with SmartFinish® features a durable overlay for a beautiful, professional-grade appearance. With no knots or voids, it’s a welcome change from building with traditional plywood flooring. Plus, unlike plywood shed floors, LP® ProStruct® Flooring with SmartFinish® is treated with the LP® SmartGuard® process for longer-lasting performance in a variety of climates/weather. When in use, it doesn’t stain like standard plywood and makes cleanup a breeze.
Pressure-treated lumber will outlast untreated lumber due to its resistance against rot and decay caused by insects, mold, and other elements. The superior quality of our runners also allows us to more easily move your shed in years to come if ever necessary.
Resistance to rot and moisture are the most significant advantages of pressure-treated lumber. Its chemicals form a barrier against moisture and pests, making the wood ideal for outdoor structures.
Because of their durability and high-quality composition, architectural shingles generally have a longer lifespan than the 3-tab variety. They stand up better to weather conditions such as heat, snow, ice, rain, and strong winds.
Locally sourced from Vermontville, MI, our G-Rib metal is an economical & practical all-purpose panel that fares well in Michigan’s weather conditions.
Wilderness Urethane offers a beautiful stained appearance that is mildew-resistant, easy to clean and guaranteed not to fade. Wilderness Urethane offers built-in UV stabilizers to improve weather resistance and avoid degradation from sunlight exposure!
A premium paint solution that brings a touch of luxury and durability to your shed. Our California Ultra Satin Paint is locally sourced from a family-owned paint shop in Caledonia, MI. It boasts vibrant, rich colors that maintain their depth and beauty over time.
Our ramp-ready thresholds are manufactured with a receiving hook to easily connect ramps.
Over time and through varying weather conditions wood doors may need to be adjusted, so our turn buckle stabilizers create the necessary support to maintain a robust structure.
The spring-loaded feature allows the bolt to be locked in the open position during the use of your door.

For metal roofing. The foil facing serves as an excellent vapor barrier, preventing moisture transmission and subsequent condensation issues. It also reflects radiant heat, adding to it’s effectiveness.
